Post Natural Competence
Hi

I was wondering about the mechanisms of natural competence and it's relative efficiency. Hypothetically, if I cultured say, bacillus subtilis, and then put DNA into the medium, would the bacteria "take it up"? If so, what is the efficiency of this transformation?
