The Biopunk Biogear Logo
I have made a logo for the site biopunk.org. The design is new as far as I know.
The logo is a gear with 12 cogs on top of the biohazard symbol. Signifying that technology has dominion over (the dangers of) biology. The cogs are arranged in the shape of the hour marks on an analog clockface. Their shape is stylized and they have a square top to contrast against
the roundness of the biohazard logo.
The logo borrows from earlier logos/symbols: The original Dow Chemicals biohazard symbol. Niko Weh's 'Biohazard gears', and two versions the Laibach band logo. These are shown below. The name 'biogear' was suggested by phryk.
The logo is released under the CC BY-SA 3.0 licence on condition that the Dow Chemical corp. biohazard symbol is in the public domain. Link to the license is here:
http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/3.0/Its intended use is for Biopunk, but I suspect it can be a good generic biohacker symbol.
